Shan-Loong's origins trace back to 1976, when we did transport & delivery of raw materials, raw paper, cardboard boxes, and cardboard for Cheng Loong Group. In 1976, our headquarters was established in Banqiao. As Taiwan's domestic economy has taken off and the import/export business has flourished, Shan-Loong has extended from our core logistics, transport, and bulk delivery services to expand into the fuel station, customs brokerage, and shipping/customs markets. All employees uphold the operational philosophy of "Loyalty; Honesty; Faith; and Truth": Loyalty to the company; honesty and reliability; faithfully upholding our commitments; and a truthful, grounded work attitude. Our horizontal integration into logistics, transport, fuels, shipping, customs, and more services has made us Taiwan's premier model for transportation companies.
Based on our solid operational base, we pursue higher quality, environmental, and safety & health management . In 1994, 2003 and 2020, respectively, we received ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, and ISO 450001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems certifications. We are the first transport company in Taiwan to receive environmental certification. Not only that, but our continuous management system operations and quality/health & safety performance continue to move Shan-Loong further along the path of continuous improvement.
The Security and Safety Authorized Economic Operator (AEOS) system is a certification system that seeks safety and security in cross-border cargo transportation. AEOS is just beginning to take shape in the international transport industry; gaining AEOS certification allows benefits for rapid customs passage. More than 170 countries worldwide are implementing AEOS certification systems. A list of more than 50 countries including Taiwan, EU countries, the US, China, and, nearer to Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia have already announced their AEO systems.
As defined by the Customs Administration, "Any entity that engages in business related to international cargo shipping, which complies with WCO or equivalent supply chain safety standards, and which approves approval from its national customs authority or representatives thereof is qualified to be certified as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO). Such entities include manufacturers; importers; exporters; customs brokers; contractors; consolidated shipment businesses; intermediate carriers; ports; airports; cargo vehicle businesses; integrated carriers; warehouse businesses; distributors; and other persons related to the international logistical chain."
Shan-Loong's sister companies: Shan-Loong International & Customs Broker Co., Ltd. received their first AEO certification in 2013. Since that time, they have received a great deal of customs and customer esteem and trust. This success, and the promise of further reducing supply chain management risks while also enhancing the Company's image and customer reliance, led three sister companies — Shan-Loong Transportation, Shan-Loong International & Customs Broker's Taichung subsidiary, and Shan-Loong International & Customs Broker's Kaohsiung subsidiary — to begin the AEO certification process in 2015. The process involved many steps, from preliminary planning and meetings to creating a variety of systems, implementing training, and much more. However, in in June, 2016, they finally and smoothly passed both the written review and the onsite verification, receiving their AEO certificates. With continuous improvement and further perfection, in April and June, 2019, they passed their three-year correction and renewal process, continuing to uphold high standards for supply chain safety & security.
